HANDLING DEPRESSION

   Depression in psychotherapy and psychiatry, is a state of mind producing serious long-term lowering of enjoyment of life or inability to visualize a happy future. It is also a period of unhappiness or low morale which lasts longer than several weeks and may include ideation of self-inflicted injury or suicide.     Although the exact cause is not known, anyone can develop depression. It could be from relationship problem, bereavement redundancy, financial problems, health issues etc.     Depressed people are prone to suicide, mental illness, drug abuse, sexual abuse, low self esteem amongst others.     There are different causes of depression so the ways of handling it varies too. I hereby suggest the following points;  1. Admit that you need help.  2. Get a friend you can talk to. It is often said that a problem shared is half solved.  3.
